Basicly.. i left 3 peco points near on a radiator for a hour or too and most of the sleepers distorted and drooped alot. and lost all shape pleaase may you give me a hand on how to rebuild them and what to use.. but cheaply

I duno what you could do, mybe rebuild using the rail and wood or sleepers?

Yeah has been a while, rebuilt prettymuch 80% of the line since i didnt want a roller coaster as a railway

but still has gradients. i was thinking of doing that with wooden ones but would need to find some thing that will allow it to be the same height as peco track, i also considered pcb sleepers but cant find anywhere to source 10mm or wider pcb strips

but if i have to use woof im sure i can slip a few pennies into my schools workshop technitions pocket

nightmare I have no clever suggestions unless you contact peco and see if they will supply new sleepers

put the sleepers in boiling water to make them 'workabe' again and try and reform them? other than that copper sleepers, brass sleepers or wooden ones. Either way make sure all your distanses and clearences are right. A couple ot mil out and nothing will run through them

I think the may bee beyond reshaping

but do you know where any copper clad strips or brass strips maybe supplied? since i need enough for at least 2 points

and also best way to make them ??

you need to get a set of point drawings the right radius and make a jig from them. as for sleepering material. take a visit to B&Q or your nearest metal deal (look in the yellow pages) theres normally one tucked away on an industrial estate near you.

i think on dave watkins pages there is a plan for a peco one so ill use that and ill see what i can do when i have some money

Ahh i have found a easy ish solution.... (quote from Dave Watkins pages) " Instead I solder the rails to brass strips about 4mm wide which you will see on four of the sleepers on the point drawing. I also solder the frog and wing rails to a piece of brass to form a solid structure. I fix the brass down by drilling small holes and pressing a small brass pin into the sleeper with a hot soldering iron." <--- he uses Peco Sleeper(£4 per point) and Peco rail fixings(£4 for 100 i think)

Fixed 2 sets but since it caused alot of frustration i wont be fixing the last set... which means no siding at all on my railway

but since the loops only accomodate 3 4-wheelers that is not a problem... also in next few weeks there will be pics in the general garden railway section... as the whole railway is being rebuilt...
