You've hit the nail on the head there. If it was more like the original Cheddar price (£399) I might even have bought one and tried a few cosmetic improvements on it...but £585 is far, far too much.steamyjim wrote:I have to say i like it but i just think its to expensive for what it is.
Still, thinks are only worth what people will pay for them, and if this batch dosn't sell then sooner or later Stuart will be forced to lower the price to get them off their hands...

I did not have any Cheddar Models catalogues, but I'm sure it ended up a lot more than that price before Cheddar's demise. I'm sure steamyjim can tell us the last official Cheddar price.the original Cheddar price (£399)
As I've previously pointed out, unless you are a resident of the Channel Islands or intend on collecting your Stuart Iver (and you would still be liable for the VAT on re-entering the UK, or any EU country in fact), then the price is £585 excluding VAT, which is £104.48 plus P&P of £12, making the actual cost £701.48.

And whilst the debate goes on about the Iver, did anyone see the Buy It Now Iver for £150 on ebay. I did not and that was a real bargain - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Cheddar-Iver-16mm ... dZViewItem
It was only on there for 14 minutes!
The buyer has also just won the wobbly MSS Saddle Tank loco as well. Are they starting a railway or is it another case of buy to resell for profit?
