Lamp for Attila

I spent this weekend fitting a light to the lamp casting I have for Attila, it's a self contained unit which push fits in the casting, there's a screw in the base that acts as a switch. The overall height of the lamp is 1 3/4 in so getting it made was quite fiddily.



Next job is to paint it, probably black.

Looking good there! Talking of lamp brackets how are those head boards?

oh and mr bond, not well. im suppost to be painting them but he still hasnt made the brackets for attatching them as he hasnt found the right screws

talking off full production,Will, rekon we could make a tail lamp in the same fashoin but with a red lens? would look good with a headlamp AND taillamp at night!

and before you say it, i know we havent got any lamp brackets on the coaches, but i can put some on my coaches!

Possibly not worth it for the amount of use we'd get from a tail lamp, given they cost £35

Surely if you wanted a tail lamp you could find something less ornate to put the lamp in, I can see the point of something scale on the loco, but surely for a tail lamp on carriages you just need something functional and can take a few knocks

You could always "dress up" a bicycle rear lamp??

I know that the lads at Tretheake Mill have just 'functional' tail lamps, just a simple white plastic box with a couple of LEDs or something in a red lense, switch ontop and bracket on back. Looks good, but functional mainly. Probably make one of those for a couple of quid.
