Roundhouse Linda Tender connector

Recently my tender on my roundhouse Linda has been derailing a lot. I'm not sure why this is happening. I think it may be something to do with the streatcer bar connecting the loco to the tender. This was bent when I had a bad derailment and my engine almost ended at the bottom of the viaduct at the PTLR ontop of coppermill signal box. Ever since then the problem has been getting a lot worse. I was wondering if somebody could show me a picture of how their streatcher bar looks. mine has a bad kink in it and there is quite a lot of play where it is connected to the loco. I am wondering if it is the kink or the play in the nut or a combo of both.

Ive checked on my Linda, strecher bar straight flat no bends and NO play at all in the nut.

Ok cleary I have found the problem so that shall come off and get straightened in the vice tomorrow. and then the nut appropriatley tightened.

Thanks for the help guys (and the good pictures keith - good idea with the plug!), although if anyone elses is any different I would still like to know (just me being curious really)

Mine looks just like Keith's, but less oily

The thing that bugs me is that the R/C connectors hang very low to the top of the sleepers, but if I make it tighter, it'll be nearly impossible to connect them up!

I hate the water pipe/spring between the two, always comes undone on Paul's Railway!

Yep, the waterpipe comes off now and then.

Have done away with the connectors. Indeed, they often hang to low. Both servo leads are direct connected to the receiver. No need to use extension cords. Have writen the coluors down in the tender so i wount mix up the channels while reconnecting to the RX.

On Charles a clip is used to keep hold of the wires. when disconnecting the coaltruck just unclip. By reconnecting make shure the wires are long enough for going round curves. Maybe some day fit RX and batt in the loco.

On my continental Regner used a bracket and quickrelease connecters. On Charles and Linda not possible

the problem with the vac pipe comeing off means that all it needs is a clip to keep it held on and that it springs like it should do.

I've been thinking of ways to make said clip.

as for the RC connectors I dont have too much of a problem with mine and like them as they are.
