Arghhh i need a project

I need a project that will take atleast 3 months at 1 hour per week

Reason is i need something to do for me Duke of Edinbourough skill

I am hoping to use schools facilitys and had a look at the Dave watkins idris and looks to complicated and the brazil by keith ..

But im so baffled !!!! dont know what to do and im not exaclty experienced can some one help ?

Why not make a battery loco? you could still machine parts for it without the worry of boiler making and valve gear complications.
Other than this you could make rolling stock?

Yeah i might make a battery loco its just i have to have plans before i ask the teacher =/ and im not very good with plans lol i can read but no the best at drawing

If i do do the batery loco i will probly make the whole thing from metal :) just to improve skills

I designed simplifed Idris if you wanted a steam loco of some sort, haven't got any plans for it but im sure i could do some if you wanted to go down that route.

There is 'Cracker', but trust me, it'll take you much longer than that time period to build a steam engine.

Yeah its bronze but im already doing my physical for 6 months im just hoping school will let me use there facilities ( which are quite frankly C**p as we are a Languages college :( :( if i wanted a laser cutter id have to go to the catholic school :(

Sam- want to finish that atlantic of mine- not a great amount left to do. but you do realise thats only 12-18 hours work time you have. you would be better scratchbuilding a coach or something smaller. Ive got a load of bits you can have when i see you at easter if you want. let me know-

A right- but then again- look at my steam engines- i know ive got an awful lot scattered round- but i tend to put most of my time into one or another over a given year or so- they take longer than you think- 2 axles can be 4 hours work by the time youve measured cut measured cut etc- im currently breaking a printer at work for bits- have tons of gears motors and pulleys. if you answer your phone.... we can dicuss... 8) ;)

Ahhaha finaly settled on a engine :) dont know what body work will be yet but i will build it on a 'Tyro' chassis which i will make from the drawings :)
