I have one of those, dating back over 20 years. Neat little lubricator from the early days of Mamod steam.

Yes, it was good for its day. The problem is no way to fill it once running. With the upgrade throttle, one can shut off steam, and with either the deadleg lubricator or with a Roundhouse one like I installed, much better.

When you've got say a 5in engine and you want to keep it from blowing off little pumps like that are good because they use steam but put in very little water.Sir haydn wrote:Now i can see how it works I'm thinking its not the best idea. wot a waste of steam, an axle pump and bypass valve is much more efficiant. :? why complicate things this much?
