Gorgeous :)

You've made a very nice job of lifting that out of the ordinary.

it is a manual loco yes, and the cylinder drains and lubricators are just two sizes of copper core from cabling.

is it looks the part!!! may i copy your idea

sure, its not my idea. its been done before. if you are doing this to a RH linda, blanche or charles when you look under the cylinder you will see a small piece of brass which is purely decorative. this is easily used to solder the pipe onto, althow i found it easier to make new ones to the correct pattern

Ah, I've not seen this done before on a RH Linda, I've ordered one (in black of course) and was planning to what you've done with the tender - it looks absolutely superb. Nice work!

just recieved a package from glendale junction where i got my Linda from with the headlamp that comes with the loco (which roundhouse had ran out of) and i thought it would jut be a cast one, but its a chuffed to bits working one! I thought that was a nice little surprise!

Its a nice little touch adding working lamps with a RTR model. Maybe Roundhouse should start doing that with all their models.

Then the market could be flooded with LNER style loco lamps.

Nice detailing work on the Linda by the way.

Linda looks fantastic...

May I ask what couplings you used and if they are difficult to fix? My Linda is currently being built as we speak... :D

Regards

The couplings are brandbright choppers. the cast brass ones and are around £15 a set. they may be difficult to fix to standard roundhouse buffer beams. I have made my own custom beams with the correct rivit and bolt patterns. this allowed me to postion and fix the buffers where i wanted them. they fix with the two bolts at the side and a centre hole for the swing arm of the buffer. the front buffer needs some adjusting as the swing arm protrueds so much at the back that it fouls the valve chests. I simply made the swing arm sit a little further forward and filed a little off the rear of the assembly!
