Aileen Tom Cooper

Post by Busybodies021151 » Tue Feb 13, 2024 2:53 pm

Hi everyone Rob Bennett here
I recently bought a lovely Tom Cooper Aileen in good condition…it runs ok but can’t keep up a head of steam…does a lap and stops….I was given the instruction manual with it…but I’ve put it somewhere safe???
I want to give it a service and in the manual there’s a list of components…I’m looking for …gas jet size and thread….and O ring sizes…I also want to replace the huge pressure gauge too….
Anyone know anyone who’s done these services

Simon @ https://anythingnarrowgauge.co.uk has always had an answer for any Merlin related questions I've had. He sells some replacement parts, so might be able to advise? You could try Tony Willmore @ http://www.rhoshelyg.me.uk/Locoworks.html but I don't think he'd want anything to do with a Tom Cooper loco from my own experience!
