Anyone know what this is called?
Anyone know what this is called?
Can anybody tell me what this plug ( and matching flying socket) is called and/or where to get them from, please?
There are no markings on it at all, but it is currently (!) carrying 20v.

I believe that they are Tamiya plugs and sockets. I have bought them in the past from a model aircraft radio control specialist near me (Kings Lynn Model Shop). They also do the crimp pins that populate the housings, I'm not sure if they do a crimp tool to suit as I already had one but with care it is possible to solder them, depending on how steady yours hands are!

Thanks Phil but they aren't Tamiya's I'm afraid. I have some of those and these are different.

I don't personally recognise those, but you might be able to use the parametric search at suppliers like DigiKey, RS Components or Farnell to find the connector. Once you narrow down to the correct pin pitch/spacing, 2 pins and locking system you might be down to a list of 30 or so candidates that shouldn't be too hard to scroll through to see if any match yours.

Thanks Richard.
I already spent a lot of time looking at RS and ebay and amazon. Haven't tried Farnell and Digi yet though.
The nearest seems to be JST but the keyways are different so they won't mate properly even if the other dims are the same. I could try a bit of surgery but I have a good reason for not wanting to alter the existing set up and obviously void a warranty!

Re: Anyone know what this is called?
Just to wrap this up if anyone is interested, after many hours ( literally) of searching I did eventually find them. They are by TE Connectivity and having found what they are called, I then managed to find them on both RS and DigiKey. Only problem is that minimum order quantities mean a bill of £20 for one little plug and socket pair, plus 49 more that I don't want!
I know I could just change them to something that I already have in stock but I want to connect into existing wiring without obvously voiding an almost entire 3-year warranty.
