Hi I was wanting to know any information on T boilers
How they work and if there are any drawings available as I like the look of them but I cannot find any information on them

a T boiler is the logical progression of a vertical boiler. it holds more water centrally and adds weight, adding traction. Logging locos have a single flue and more surface area being heated means better steam production.

Are you asking about T boilers for garden scale models, or full size ones?

Functionally a T boiler is a form of raised firebox when used in a garden scale loco. They carry more water than a conventional horizontal boiler, as the horizontal section can be full of water, while the top of the vertical section contains a large steam space.

The only working drawing I've seen for a T boiler in garden scale is the gas fired one that Argyle Loco in Aust. used in their Philadelphia model about 20 yrs ago. The home builder kit version came with a set of drawings, including the boiler.

If you want a live steamer with a T boiler, the Regner Lumberjack is still available........

Thanks for the replys I am after making a cracker loco but would like to make a T boiler as I think they look better has anybody made one possibly with pictures just wanting a idea of how to start

I think Tony Bird might have made one. He's on here IIRC and also on the Cracker Facebook group.
