Nostalgia from the PLR
Nostalgia from the PLR
I've been laid up for a couple of weeks and so took the opportunity to sort through some old videos - contrasting them with those taken more recently at similar locations with more recent stock. I've enjoyed putting it together, hop you like it.

Re: Nostalgia from the PLR
Thanks Tom
Saw the doc today and he's signed me off - but still got a very tender head after nearly three weeks (recovering from Shingles). He says I got off lightly, would hate to think what getting the full blown version's like! He did show me some photos of faces with nasty Shingles rashes, so I think I did get the anti-virals on time, thank goodness!

Loving the video Rik, you always do a great video
As for shingles, my step father got that last year, he is in his 80's and it's really hit him hard, he is still suffering now, I didn't realize just how nasty it can be. I do hope you feel better very very soon as my step father has been suffering for about 3+ months now

Glad you're well on the mend Rik. I did think you'd been a bit quiet recently.
My wife got shingles a year or so ago, around her waist area, so you have our sympathy. Hers was very unpleasant and painful for about 3 weeks, and then it recurred some weeks later although not so intensely the 2nd time.

So pleased to hear you are over the worst, no one has anything good to say about shingles, it is a nasty ailment which is debilitating and painful. Glad to see you are back.

Love the video Rik, I had a relaxing 20 minutes or so, (watched it more then once) The locos and trains running along your stream and past the Water Mill are an absolute joy. The Wood Mill looks like it's been there for years. Some brilliant modelling and I always love watching your work.
Glad to hear your over the, which can be a very serious illness Rik. I for one have missed your very welcome modelling and hopefully we can all enjoy many more years of how your line improves.
One day I can have a line that may just go to being 10% has good as yours and other members too.

Re: Nostalgia from the PLR
Thanks for your kind thoughts and feedback, folks.
I feel a lot better than I did a week ago and I'm beginning to get back to my old ways (good and bad! ). Still not 100%, but who is at our age (68)?
Sorting through old videos was an enjoyable armchair activity - a lot better than watching daytime tv which has been my default activity for the last two weeks or so.

If you're not at death's door before watching, you're almost suicidal by the end of the day. Fortunately I slept through most of it.

I sleep through most of the day now Rik....
Not really, but this latest bout with the heavy cold has left me even more tired. Been all most 3 weeks, it's getting harder to shake them off has we get older. No amount of "Hot Toddies" helps either........

Thanks.
Managed to get out into the workshop over the past few days without feeling like $#! Β₯! Made a bit more progress with the brewery. Will update the brewery thread when I've something to show for my efforts.
