This was brought to my attention earlier today and I thought I would share it here, locoworks are taking pre orders for a live steam George England

I am surprised that no one has really produced a live steam model of an England before in any quantities. I know Peter Angus builds them and there have been some very nice looking mamod conversions, but for what is a very iconic Locomotive the, lack of a model from a major manufacturer surprises me. I can only think that due to the small nature of the prototype, the project would have been impractical. Mind you a 7/8th model would go very well with an Accucraft Hunslet and Bagnall.

Handbuilt at the rate of 10 per year, I think the price will reflect a second mortgage!

I wonder how much a set of driving wheels and cylinders would come to if one were so inclined as to build a small England as running in the 1860s (as a side tank)

I have a feeling that it is not going to be cheap, we should find out soon.

Having said that, what is cheap for a hand built engine?
I still think that the price of a live steam engine is cheaper now than it was 25 years ago, relatively speaking.
