Has anyone built one of these and fitted a working light?

If not, any other kits out there with working lamps?

Re: Signal kits
I presume you mean the signal post kit?
I have built one of the home signals but have not illuminated the lamp, although with leds this would be quite easy to do and the wiring could be hidden in the post during the course of construction. The kit itself is very well detailed but from my point of view a bit of overkill as this fine detail is not normally seen from conventional viewing angles. The use of steel pins and pivots in the kit I thought a poor idea for external use and I replaced these with brass but that was the only downside in my opinion. Cutting the coloured "glass" to the correct shape to fit the lenses was not easy but that is not a criticism of the kit, only of my ability as the builder.

Re: Signal kits
Hi - i buy mine from the guy on eBay that makes them up ready to go - they look good, work well and include an LED light - all for around £12 - £15 usually. Currently I run each light from its own dedicated 9vPPV which works fine - I think they can go to 12 V - there are detailed operating instructions included
I have two so far and now I've finished the far side of the line need 2 or 3 more - he doesn't have them on there all the time - seems to do a batch of them.
I've attached a pic below of one in use - can take closer ones this weekend if you like
