On GSC a challenge was issued - to replicate a photo of a railway on your own line. Here was my attempt .....
A few discrepancies, I'm afraid

Looks pretty good to me Rik. The only obvious, not nit-picking, difference is the coach roof profile and I know that's because you modified proprietary coaches.

Yes, the coaches are actually based on Leek & Manifold stock - the only balcony coaches I have

Just looking at your photograph in isolation, you could easily mistake it for the real thing before scrutinising it more closely.
Well done Rik.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?

That's a really good recreation Rik. The only things I can really see different are a couple of leaves less on the third tree from the left and Cheddar rather than Cheshire cheese in the Drivers sandwiches!
Peter is right, your picture could very easily be mistaken for the prototype, well done!
"Smith! Why do you only come to work four days a week?
"'cause I can't manage on three gaffer!"

To get the perspective as close to the original as possible, I had to zoom in and 'step back' - which has also reduced the depth of field - which I think helps. Took a while (and several 'takes') before I got it as near as I could.

Excellent Rik, although your driver seems a bit camera shy

Yes, unfortuately he's glued in a bit too well, so I couldn't remove him to insert another more like the one in the postcard.

Very nice Rik,
The Southwold railway is about the only thing that could turn me on to 45mm gauge.
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!
