I just tried going on to the website to check for any news updates and before the page could load, my anti-virus software blocks the page saying that it has detected malware!
Has anyone else encountered this? I'm using BitDefender Anti-Virus Free Edition if that helps.

No I have no problems. I am using AVG antivirus. Its possible that Bitdefender has found a problem in the past and not updated. A few years ago I had my website hacked and a virus downloader was installed. I cleared it all out the offending files and reloaded the site and the server owner confirmed all was good but some search engines and antivirus programmes took many many weeks before they would allow access. Others only took hours or at the most days.

You could try clearing out the cashe by running CCleaner the free version is available from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
