The AnyCubic combo. It looked like a bargain price and as it was coming directly from AnyCubic it wouldn't be a cheap clone.

The tracking details say it's presently at the national hub in the UK, so hopefully it looks like I won't have to pay import duties as it must have come from a UK warehouse. On the same day, I ordered set of backlight LEDs from AliExpress for our TV and the tracking details say they are presently in transit from China. I just hope they don't disappear into the Black Hole of Felixstowe docks ..... :?

It was a while ago but mine came from a UK warehouse, with no extra charges. Delivery was very quick.

Well, it looks ok and, as far as I can tell, all the bits are there.

Annoyingly, the resin which I ordered at the same time, is still n its way, so I can't test it out. But then, it will have to be put away until Christmas ..... :(

Just a thought, you've mentioned buying the resin a couple of times but have you also ordered a fairly large quantity of IPA for the washing?( Unless you've got water washable resin, of course). Plus you'll need large quantities of kitchen roll and neoprene/nitrile disposable gloves.

Thanks Philip.
Yes, thanks to your thread on resin printing, I've got 5l of IPA on order. Hopefully it'll come at the same time as the resin. I already have a box full of gloves and a large roll of that blue paper towel, so I think I'm covered (literally and metaphorically).

I've set up the printer and washer in the workshop, powered them up and levelled the bed, so just awaiting the arrival of the resin and ipa.

Only fill the IPA washer container to a max of just under 3L and top up as needed. The reason being is that the build plate has holes in the top and if the IPA goes in there it goes everywhere when you take it out, ask me how I know, lol

Hi Trevor
I thought I'd have a go at some of the detailing for my latest loco. I'd like to redo the safety valve and whistle cluster which came out poorly on my FDM printer with PETG. I'd then like to see if I can produce some re-railing jacks and clack valves and maybe some gauges for the cab.

I'm also going to have a go a designing and printing some little brackets to hold the reflector sheet in my flat screen TV. The backlight has failed (a common fault apparently) and rather than trashing it, I've ordered some new LED strips from China to replace the faulty ones. Trouble is, the brackets holding the reflector sheet on are very brittle and I can't get them off without them disintegrating. I'm hoping I can design and print some replacements.

I am sure you will have fun learning to use it, its a bit different to the filament printer.

It does produce some lovely detailed parts.

The level of detail is quite astonishing!

I might just sneak in a few more "test pieces" suitable for detailing my new loco before putting it away for Christmas....... ;)

That is a beautiful piece of sculpture, shame not to use it on a garden railway, possibly outside a school or library building. Completely out of period for you Rik, but more recent structures would work.

Yes, I remember feeling pretty much like that when my green version of that first lattice cube test piece emerged. :)
