mamod saddle tank

A very popular starting point for Live Steam. With their low cost comes a number of problems which can be discussed here

mamod saddle tank

Post by Roberts wood light railwa » Sun Apr 12, 2015 4:41 pm

picked up a mamod saddle tank yesterday and then went off to roy wood to get a uprated safety valve and water top up valve only to realise they both cant be in at once so i will be using only the uprated safety valve to get the extra bit of power. a lovely looking loco which will fit in just nicely with my line and stock

See here for how I got the plugged rear boiler bushing working - http://gardenrails.myfreeforum.org/about279.html

This Topic also has some horror stories regarding the poor quality of the MSS Saddle Tank loco with an incredible amount of work required to get it running properly - http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/MSS_M ... 80905.html

Good to read that yours is a runner OK.

The leak around your cylinders should reduce as you run in the loco.
