Making a start in live steam with a Mamod Brunel ?
Hello there !
I began to read this forum a long time ago. Now I think I'm ready to start my own thread.
I'm a complete newbie in live steam and I'm planning to begin with a Mamod Brunel.
I really love this loco. Is it a good choice for a newbie ?
Many thanks for all your answers.

Hello, Judging by your name you come from France???? Mamods are not for the un-wary, From my own knowledge you best buy a Roundhouse 'Millie' as they are easy to light up, wonderful after sales service....and they work without hassle every time. The only reason I purchased a Brunel is that I wanted a geared locomotive that did not cost a lot so I could convert it up to 7/8" scale. Buy a 'Millie' and have FUN!

I believe Mamod normally only sell them directly. Go to http://www.mamod.co.uk/product-category ... am-trains/
