From MSS to "Ofario"

A very popular starting point for Live Steam. With their low cost comes a number of problems which can be discussed here

Agreed, with this and the new 16mm Mamod Facebook page, there is an excellent exchange of info, assistance and ideas.

Now is the best time in my nearly 30 years in Mamodry as far as the share of support and info. :D

I've seen this being discussed before but it is not readily obvious when you search Facebook - there is no entry for 16mm Mamod.

Could you provide us with a link please? Thank you.

Chris Cairns.

Thanks Laurence.

It is strange that this Group does not come up when you search for 16mm Mamod. I ended up joining the 16mm garden railway group instead, but found that was not the right one.

Off to join the right one now!

Cylinder covers were fitted today in my lunch break at work...

Here's a photo with some wagons :)

I'd set the group to closed in case the group gained a few spammers and the like which is why it probably didn't come up.

Nope! You were right Chris, that was not the last instalment as today my brain had a moment of pure genius!

Ofario has been lined out and now has Steps for the cab.

I don't have a Facebook account and don't intend to sign up. Therefore the Mamod page is closed to me.
Lead me not into temptation, for I can find my own way.

I used 1mm Galvanised Steel... Because it was the only thing I had...

Strip of material 120mm long by 15mm wide.
Mark out from each end 5mm inwards, 20mm inwards and then put in a vice and bend...

Bend on the 20mm lines first then do the 5mm lines.

You should end up with this...

Then just drill a hole in the middle and 40mm in from one end of the raised bit for the knurled nut on the meths burner to secure in place

Steps have been painted Matt Black to match the rest but will no doubt go shiny over time from all the meths and oil etc...

Two coats have been applied with 24 hours between each coat.
So now... Ofario is all very SHINY!!!

The Latest addition to Ofario has been a single lamp bracket and a GWR Lamp...
