Interesting idea for a Mamod replacement cab

A very popular starting point for Live Steam. With their low cost comes a number of problems which can be discussed here

Interesting idea for a Mamod replacement cab

Post by Spule 4 » Wed Mar 05, 2008 4:28 am

Check this out, the IP "Lucy" (battery diesel) cab Vs. the Mamod one.  Would give a nice open back, would look great on a tender type loco.

The only tough bit is the cab is narrower than the Mamod one, and I am not sure if IP sells these alone?

Yes, notice fruit is involved.....

That needn't be a problem, a lot of LBSCR locos had cabs narrower than the tanks...have a look at my photos of Fenchurch and Birch Grove at the Bluebell Railway's Branchline Gala to see what I mean...

(Oops, did I just drop a shameless plug in there? Sorry about that, promise it won't happen again :P )
