Burner conversion

Post by Arthur Sleep » Mon Dec 21, 2015 1:18 pm

Two questions:
-is it cheap and easy to convert a tablet burning engine to a methylated spirits one?
-Can Hornby '0' gauge rolling stock be used with normal mamod engines with a bit of doctoring?

A meths burner can be bought from a few places for around £30. Slide the tablet tray out the back, then take the nut off the meths burner and lower the loco over the burner. Tighten the nut back up and you are done.

Don't know about the horny wagons but most things can be coupled up somehow, often with the help of a paper clip !

You have to replace the wheels on the hornby stock, else they will ride on the sleepers.

The wheels just pop out- bend the frames slightly either side and then the gap is wide enough to fit on end of the axle out.

For wheels, I got mine from Roy Wood Models and got 6 axles, with wheels attached for around £18
