Buildings

Post by Robert Hammond » Sun Jan 06, 2019 4:09 pm

Having constructed several buildings in concrete I stumbled across a website 'Bromley Craft Products' which sells texture compounds for brick and stone finishes and various moulding stencils in scales from 1:12 to 1:48 including 1:19 and 1:24. I have not seen or used any of these and wondered if anyone else has had experience of them.

I have one of the stone effect stencils and the recommended compound which I have used on buildings for my Rowland Emett displays. Neither the base material I used, or the compound, would be suitable for exterior use. It might be possible to use a waterproof additive to the mix but I haven't tried it.
The finished effect is very convincing and it is not difficult to achieve a satisfying result after painting.
