Cheap trees for indoor lines.

A place for discussing garden railway scenery, such as buildings, trees, etc....

Cheap trees for indoor lines.

Post by Annie » Sat Dec 19, 2015 7:13 am

With it being nearly Christmas small Christmas trees between about 9-14 inches high are a common sight in the shops and they tend not to be very expensive at all.  I've been buying these over the years with a view to using them on the Kotanga Tramway. My 7/8th scale Ewings loco gives some idea of their size.

My plan is to use them in their non-folded out state which is mostly how they are packed anyway when you buy them.  The dark green colour of the artificial foliage isn't the best and I intend to experiment with lightly spraying them in other shades of green as well as texturing the trunks with a toilet paper and glue mix then painting to make them look a little more the part.
What has Reality done for you lately?
