Anything, you will find, is more scenic than a shelf. I have mocked both briges with K'nex and will take photos tomorrow.

Oh dear me. I have fallen victim to Sods law in a big way.
I have just bought that second hand track, £250 pounds worth of it and someone has just offered me track for the price of postage (thank you)

You can't win can you!
Oh well, I didn't order enough track in the first place due to tight budget so more is very appreciated!

Progress!

The track out of Woodbridge is quite reminiscent of that on Raven Square. It will not be staying!

A boat which I plan to convert to a thames barge eks affair to sale on the river...
Image
General view of the garden, you get an idea of why I am making a new railway, so much more space yet still so little!
Image
I have to fit a balloon loop and small town in hear, and half of it has to be removable - lucky me!

Yes... it is most annoying,
I don't think anyone except for me has been on one of those bikes for at least 6 months now...

Oh well.
I have to live with it
Lots of the rubbish will be going now that I have total control of the garden!

Nice one Zach. I like the idea of the balloon loops, will allow you to sit back, relax and watch the trains go by, or do some shunting and running around etc - plenty of options! Make sure the loading gauge is bigger this time too, so visiting engines can run!

Nice progress so far Mr Bond, I know that you're a bit of a stickler for timescales so I must ask the question - everything going on schedule so far?

Also, out of interest, what radius curves will you be using on your return loops and do you intend using "sprung" turnouts on them?

Well done so far and looking forward to following your progress. :thumbleft:

I should hope to have a workable stretch of railway before the beginning of September as after then my choice of A levels will kill all the spare time I had.

2 ft 8 inch radius curves (sharp intakes of breath) but thats what I HAVE to use

Maybe sprung points maybe not. we'll see...

Nowt wrong wi' that! It's narrow gauge after all, (and my excuse is that the line's partially ex-industrial tramway!) :D

Right then. More progress. I had to remove a LARGE fucia from the garden which was taking up space where the river was going so I dug it out with a saw, spade, trowel and fork. It took alot of work and I have been left with a 100ft drop!
Dom, just finished digging realises the absence of a ladder.

No warning signs or barriers! Don't let the elf'n'safety see those pics! :D

Arthur looks to have turned out nicely, another of the Fine Fimo Folk !

Thank you. Luckily elfnsafety has not found the DVLR yet but it soon will!

Bricks now laid, the gap is for the lift bridge over the Deben! There is already quite a deep cutting which I plan to line with broken terracotta pots. It's good fun this railway building, much better than shelves although I will still be using shelves! - one of the station platforms at Woodbridge will be on a shelf!

Already looks much better for being off the shelf
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Looking good there fella (apart from the wrong gauge of course, just joking you know how it is ;) ).

As said it looks very industrial, Compton style industry buildings would look good scattered about some of the area's.
Tommy Dodd may have an ARS key but I have a TASS button & a Rope Ladder, just like pirates, except the TASS button bit.
