Re: North Avenue Line
Now a few coats of pva and then paint
Re: North Avenue Line
Nice! Are you going for a traditional striped paint job?
Re: North Avenue Line
Cut the very top off the lighthouse as it dident look right. Looks lots better now.
Re: North Avenue Line
Andrew I'm unsure how to paint it .after studying lots of pictures .I think I'm going to paint a small red bit at the top and then gray and white stripes
Re: North Avenue Line
Bit shorter but looks better

Re: North Avenue Line
Agreed Jim, that does look so much better without the slimmer top section.

Re: North Avenue Line
Much better without the narrow bit. Looks just the ticket now, just needs the accustomed paint job. I used to know what the various banding schemes meant on light houses, but it is a long time since that was necessary information as I probably have not been sailing in 30 years.

Traffic Pattern? What pattern? Spuds out; grain in, but cattle, sheep and passengers are a lot less predictable.
Re: North Avenue Line
After looking at a lot of pictures. I went for Gray stripes in the end .well I had some gray paint in the workshop at work too so that helped decide a bit too. Now to paint the windows door wire it up .then it can go outside

Re: North Avenue Line
The colour has transformed it Jim, I like it understated with grey as it would be a much more dominant item in strong colours. I hope your neighbours enjoy the sweeping lights passing by their windows!

Re: North Avenue Line
Thanks for the comments just about finished painting it tonight. I will hopefully wire it up and get it out in the garden next week
Re: North Avenue Line
I agree with Peter, Jim. The colours are great. The way you have approached this build is a work of art, you should be very proud mate.
Very well done Jim.

Its just about finished .it should run smother after the motor has run in. Just one window too paint and it can go outside

Nicely done. I like the way the beam sweeps around the room.

Re: North Avenue Line
Got the lighthouse in place this weekend. It works great had it going for 4 hours last night .But I have noticed 3 of my building that I sprayed with textured paint have not done too well and the paint has peeled off .I will post some pictures tomorrow
