the north avenue line used too be g gauge running LGB loco and rolling stock.the track was layed around the garden I made quite a few buildings from wood.this worked and was all good fun .some of the buildings didn't survive that well .the railway took up a lot of the garden then my wife had a baby.time for a change I dismantled the railway and changed the garden around in preparation for a little one plodding around the garden.with most of the buildings needing major maintenance and some being beyond repair .I decided to change everything and change the railway too 7/8th scale and make most of the buildings from plastic .

That's a great collection of structures you have there Jim, you have been busy. They all look good together and you will have no regrets about using materials which need less maintenance.

Jim your line has certainly started to get that Industrial atmosphere. The chap on the fence in the gasworks photo, is he an ex employee? Love the moggy minor van too.

Very Compton Down-ish. Your line is going to have real industrial atmosphere - can almost smell the smoke and engine oil.

Agreed Rik.... Jim has created an individual look, just as Compton Down had its own 'style' N.A.L. is one of a kind. Looks great!

Nice industrial look there Jim, I have to confess my favourite trains are short but with real purpose. It's nice to see the little one getting involved, never too young.

the track has been pined down with copper pins and joints cleaned and tested.the railway is mounted on scaffold boards rased off the ground. iv got a few more lights to install the same as the one behind the man reading the paper on the pallets. I will also put lights in the signal box.
