One of my favourite 009 layouts

I've always enjoyed watching trains running on the C&DR. Here's the latest video .....

Thanks for sharing that Rik. I am always impressed with the stock and scenery on this railway but the running characteristics for this scale are most impressive too.
I know that shunting is your 'thing' so this video has it all...... and part 2 still to come!

Interesting video.
What are the coloured disks on the wagon roof good for?
(Visible on the gray wagons of the first train in the video)

I think I've read about these - it's a system of realistic operation, with the disks (washers, I think?) a visual representation of where a wagon's going and what it's carrying, so a red washer might mean and empty cattle wagon heading to station x, and a green one could be a load of coal for station y...

It's a lovely railway, and clearly a life's work - thanks Rik!

I'm sure I have read or seen somewhere that Rik uses such a system of operation to shunt his goods stock. Probably shown in one of his excellent videos?

Just beautiful!
I was just about to post the link. You beat me to it. As you say, idyllic. Happy to watch it for as long as it takes.
