Why was the mushroom so popular with his friends?

So, why was the mushroom so popular with his friends? because he was such a fun-guy. Boom-boom!
When you have finished rolling with hysterical laughter I can show you something I have never seen before.....

It feels rubbery to the touch and is firmly attached to the branch on our wood pile. I'm sure it wasn't there yesterday so must be fast growing to reach that size.
At first I thought it was spray foam, but no, definitely fungi. Can anyone identify it please?

It says it might have medicinal properties. Maybe it's a yet to be discovered cure for Covid??
