Another milestone reached

Post by ge_rik » Fri Nov 09, 2018 1:19 pm

Just noticed that the number of page views on my Peckforton Light Railway Blog -https://riksrailway.blogspot.com/ has now exceeded half a million since I started logging them in 2010. I certainly never expected to generate that amount of interest when I started sharing my ramblings with the world.

Many thanks to those who have taken the trouble to visit my blog and also to those who have left kind words of encouragement.

Well done Rik. I did notice a little while ago that your numbers were escalating.
I can but say a big thank you from me and, I suspect, many others for the time and effort you've taken to share your expertise with us and the inspiration you have provided.
Philip

That's amazing, well done!

I love reading your blog - well-written and informative without being "preachy", and nicely illustrated too. I tend to drop in every six months or so to find a big pile of new articles waiting for me...

Those visitor numbers are well-deserved - keep it coming!

Andrew.

It's a terrific read and a great reference work. It won't be anything like as long before you've had another half million views!

Thanks folks. Looks like I'll have to keep it up.

When I first started, I thought I'd run out of material after I'd laid the track and got my first trains running, but there still seems to be plenty to do and write about. :?

Can thoroughly recommend Blogger to anyone who fancies sharing their experiences online. It's free and dead easy to use.

What an achievement. But fully deserved. Your 'organisational' skills in the thorough way you prepare articles is something I can only dream off.
As others have said, the information you provide is all so understandable and well illustrated. I'll never know how you remember to take all the pictures of the stages in a project.

Congratulations Rik,
but I don't think any of us are surprised, even if you are. You are one of the go to sources for help and advice on garden railways and all its associated joys and woes!

My heartfelt congratulations too Rik. It's richly deserved. I suspect your posts here are studied just as much.

I am glad the forum has helped your blog hit the milestone Rik with redirects.

Looking forward to the book you eventually write on the building of garden railways ;)

Thanks everyone. Just worked out that if it takes another 14 years to reach 1 million, I will be 81years old. Hope I shall still be at it by then.

So do I. I'm sure you will be! But I'm betting it won't take another 14 years to reach a million.

I'm 60 tomorrow but that's nothing compared to 500,000 views. That is a milestone to be proud of.....60 isn't :(

And me also Rik. Your words of encouragement has given me a lot more confidence to try things I would never have had before. You have a way of being very patient when ever I have been asking stupid silly questions, you have kept on giving me advice with no animosity with your replies.

Congratulations Rik and THANK YOU.
