Seems to be fairly standard for the DHR to be described as a Toy Railway, much the same way as the Ffestiniog described itself as such in the 1930's. Anyway for a DHR landslide that seems like quite a small one...

The word 'Toy' had an original meaning of... something diminutive in size.... and has been adopted to describe playthings.

I had no idea that was the original meaning of toy. I guess the fact that it is an article in the indian Telegraph reflects the subcontinents continued use of an 'older' English.
