IOM 4 wheel coach - Wheels

Post by Jimmyb » Thu Jan 06, 2022 11:17 am

Looking for advice, I recently bought (second hand) an Accucraft (BMS) IOM 4 Wheel coach, fitted with 32 mm gauge wheels but 45 mm gauge wheels supplied.
Long story short and the 45 mm wheels were not available (suitable recompense, so no issue with seller). Checking on the Accucraft site 32 mm diameter as originally fitted are no longer available (and no supplies had any), so I opted for the 30 mm diameter W&L 45 mm gauge wheels, however the axles are to long.
My assumption is the IOM coach had the axles boxes closer together than the W&L, and ergo a different axle length, and the solution would be to "chop" the axles, however, I am sure if this is the case somebody here can advise, many thanks in advance for help provided :)

Rik, many thanks I did notice these, but none match the IOM specification, looks like its a cut down of the Accucraft I have bought :)
