Bolster wagon - Norwegian style

Post by KjellAn » Fri Jan 17, 2020 6:49 pm

The heritage line - Urskog Høland Banen (UHB) in Norway have some nice narrow gauge wagons.
One of them at Sørumsand station - the base of the line - is this bolster wagon.

Once back in the workshop I found some wheels and axleguards left over from some Brandbright Coach Kits which was converted from 4-wheel to 8-wheel bogies.
The frame and base for the cradle was built of 4 mm acrylic, some wood beams and coffee stir sticks.
Couplings are Brandbright; a pair of centre buffer couplings on the outer end of the wagons, a pair of link and pin couplings between the wagons, and a drawbar made of a square brass angle.
Added some brass angels and chains with hooks on the cradle.

Then this pair of bolster wagons loaded with logs make a nice piece of rolling stock to my garden railway.
