A Clockwork loco for the Deben Valley

Post by Dr. Bond of the DVLR » Sat Sep 03, 2011 9:53 pm

With the two battery locos playing up and a few problems with the steamers (nothing out of the ordinary) I was excited to find a meccano clockwork motor at a car boot sale for a wind up loco which doesn't need charging and can run when ever at a moments notice. Not really sure how to build up a chassis around it though. Any ideas.
Also what body to go for?
I was thinking of getting a locolines kit (you can still buy them by special order)

Ahhhhhhhh what you need is the following

Image
A Hornby Loco....then make a card body

Image
These clip on and the chimney is secured with silicone...so I can preserve the original Loco

Thanks, I have the same meccano motor as Crankd, so I'll be building a card body ontop of that...
