Wooden Loco's

Post by Catweasel » Sun Jul 20, 2014 3:03 pm

Just an idea for those who have laser cut loco's. The big problem, for those made from ply especially, is the grain in the material. How about wrapping the body with aluminium foil. A thin coat of Evostick or similar and carefully smooth the foil over. Panels be as smooth or wrinkly as you wish and being metal, looks like metal. Easy weathering job!
Lead me not into temptation, for I can find my own way.

With model aircraft we used Litho plate (like foil only etched one side to accept paints. There are adhesive versions too and various thicknesses.
