Lets have a go at regauging this!

Got one of these off ebay for £50:

Going to try and regauge and repaint it. Comes with RC, lights and sound so hoping to reuse all of it!

You will have some fun with that.
I think there is a motor block underneath which will need some serious surgery.
Photos of the job would be very interesting please.

It might be a case that I do the same as the previous Playmobil conversions: Replace the chassis completely!
Wheels are plastic so already it's a likely course of action.

So had a look at the chassis unit. Quite a complex system of plastic gears with a motor to each axle. As the wall of the power unit is plastic, it'll be pretty easy to replace the axles and cut-away to facilitate.
The thing is; should I do this or stick one big motor into a new chassis block with metal gears?
As for the body, I'll likely add some generic detailing parts (door panels, air filters, horn ect). I'm considering bronze green or Rail Blue, with warning panels on each end.

I like the "what livery" game - how about Class 14 style two-tone green?
