Has anyone dismantled a pair of Mike's Mamod cylinders of overhaul? I believe the ends are press fit, but I don't have as clear an idea about pulling the glands apart for new rings.

Just had a look at the remains of a Mike Chaney cylinder upgrade kit in my scrap box.
The gland 'O' ring is held in place by a collar which on this example has a very small gap around part of the edge, so I would try a sharp modelling knife under there. What I cannot determine is whether this collar has been retained using Loctite or something similar, so it may need heating up first to break the seal.
Mike Chaney is still active over on the 16mmngm Yahoo Group and does respond to these type of enquiries.
