Roundhouse 2014

Post by JMORG » Sun Jan 12, 2014 4:22 pm

Will Roundhouse produce an engine everyone wants? :)
To be honest, I was a little disappointed with their choice of "Karen". Surely "Gelert" was a much better choice?
Also, judging by the fact that they seem to be doing models of engines that are awaiting rebuilds, would the next one follow the trend?
Commence speculation! :D

I think Gelert is a tad like Lady Anne. I'd like to see something small and fine like FR prince..

Anything with an odd wheel arrangement (2-4-2 ect) or with a different non standard look would be great. Its about time for another super detailed model me thinks :D

I think it is about time they can Lady Anne as although a proven well running loco her freelance looks are a bit dated and it doesn't look much like any existing loco, plus there are so many good second hand versions available at reasonable prices.

I'd like them to make a 15mm scale Southwold or Irish loco.
Cheers, Steve

"So, when is this newfangled railway coming?"
"When we have enough money..."
"Where is this money coming from?"
"Havent thought that far..."

I'd like to see a Saddle tank like Volunteer or Barber just for something a bit different...

Or even a Peckett with a Saddle...
No one expects the SPANISH ACQUISITION!!!

I'm sure they would do a good job of a Moel Tryfan/Snowdon Ranger, ...... they have the technology, and some of the std parts.

As long as it's not a Kerr Stewart Wren, please please Roundhouse don't make one of these as I can't afford it.

I would also like them to remake the German tram loco and the Forney.

I think that might be just a little too small and fiddly for them - plus they're not as easy to steam and operate as their normal fare so they might not want to do it, because it wouldn't operate the same.

Personally I'd like to a Kerr Stuart skylark. I found one here:

http://www.hfstephens-museum.org.uk/col ... ocomotives

It's a little 0-4-2, very cute! :) I can image it could be made to Millie proportions ok, it just means that the running gear would need to be condensed a little.

Yes, I think one of those would go down really well - very attractive, and big, but not too big...

I reckon a NWNGR Fairlie's a possibility too, but either that or an FR England (reckon those would go like hot cakes) would be horribly tempting and cause me serious financial problems! Be careful what you wish for...

Cheers,

Andrew

Gowrie would be a good bet for a fairlie, outside valvegear and standard roundhouse cylinders.
Then again, how about an updated L&B tank, very popular i should think and a nice alternative to the Accucraft SR version

Lots of suggestions made that I whole heartedly agree with.

A nice, small tender engine (such as the 4-4-0 Lawley Paul has suggested) would have me reaching for my wallet.

If not that, anything that isn't a Welsh prototype for a change!

Roundhouse 2014

I hope for one that Roundhouse don't make an England Engine, unless they consider making it to scale, and that means 32mm gauge only.
