Bitza - a new loco for the line

This little old thing was finished last night even though it looks like it left the shop a good many years earlier.

thanks guys it's been a fun project. I always fancied a dull and dirty engine but didn't have the heart to do it to a fresh factory paint finish.
First off I called it BITZA because it's made from a lot of bits all bought at different times.
First was an Edrig chassis from Busted Bricks on this very forum.
Then a Ragleth boiler/gas tank from DJB
Accucraft supplied the dome and pressure gauge
The smoke box I spotted on the MTM sales stand last year just as someone picked it up, it didn't stay on the table long before I had it. No idea what it's from but a very heavy solid brass casting.
The cab was from Acme, a Mortimer one that I took the bunker off and remade the back sheet.
I didn't want to cut the original foot plate incase it went wrong, plus it would have left some odd holes. So I made the two smaller ones. Then made the buffer beams, valve chest covers, SV cover, dummy whistle.
I turned the spectacles round and glazed them, made the hand rail and fitted safety chains from Brandbright along with thier sprung buffers. The blown down has been rerouted to exit in front of the cylinders. Knocked up the firing irons, handles too big but they'll do.
I cut down the regulator spindles and made new handles.
I think that's about it.

What a beauty! Nice detailing; oil can, jack and all that rivet detail.
Top work.

Very impressive, a lovely industrial looking loco!

I think it makes a nice change to see a loco that looks like it actually works hard for a living once in a while.
