Rinsing a new boiler

Post by steamer68 » Fri Dec 01, 2017 1:54 pm

Just received my new o gauge loco and tender from MSS and I'm really happy with my purchase a nice looking loco. Anyway the guy at MSS Trevor recommends the boiler to be rinsed out with warm water and a drop of liquid a couple of times just in case of any loose solder. Do you guys rinse your new loco boilers the same way.
Regards
Kevin

I have never owned a new boiler. All my.stuff has come pre-loved.

I would say that this is sage advise though.
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!
