Loco build following of Wild RoseIII

Post by mike mott » Sat Jul 04, 2015 4:56 am

Well taking the plunge on following Dave's drawings I did not have any steel of the stated thickness as raw stock.
I did however have a pair of old Ikea shelf brackets that were close enough thickness wise, so I cut them up to make a start.

The spacer blocks are from some 1/4 inch black anodized aluminum that I had laying around.

The hex bolts are 1x72 made out of some 1/8th brass hex stock I have a fair bit of.

The copper pipe is 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

Maple..?

Progress has slowed down a little now that Sailing season is in full wind (we have a very short season here end of May to end of September, before the lake freezes)

I might redo the wheels I made the flanges a bit shy of the dimensions in the drawings.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate your feedback, and the time you took to prepare the drawings.
