Adding a cab to a Andel models Ffion
Hi, my latest project is to add a cab to my diesel, i am trying not to make it into 7 8ths so the cab roof will just be above the drivers head, heres a mock up i made out of card and i think it looks better than without.
Steam is highly under rated
I made one for mine, very simply and even removable but adds that little extra to the loco. Your enclosed one will keep the driver a lot drier than mine.

That´s looking good. Keep the pics coming.

most of the weathering was done with ground up SOFT pastels, rub on sandpaper and apply with a brush in downward motions. This will need to be fixed with a spray varnish. Some washes and a dry brushing will have been done too. The things in the box are oddments found around. Bits of electrical wire and such, any that looks about right will be fine. The chain is from old jewellery or you can buy it in model shops. Anything that gives the industrial feel, things that can be chopped and painted, have a look round see what you can come up with.
Thanks Joe, was quite fun to do. A quick way to give it some depth is an enamel wash. Humbrol thinned down to look like dirty water, you would need dark brown/black to show up well. Paint on and it will run into the recesses. Have some tissue handy and dab off here and there and make sure you don't get a big pool anywhere.
If you've not done it before find an old toy, plastic box or something that has texture to practise on, worth a try.
