Project Phoenix
My first 7/8th loco. I found a Novo Ruston sulking at the bottom of the box so thought I would do something with it. First of all,I squared up the ends, the leveled the top off. I'm running this one with the motor up front so I can fit the switches in the cab. Although the loco is small it's a bit of a lump in 7/8th. I've filled the corners with Liquid Gravity so it's got a bit of weight as well. Cab hasn't been decided yet.

They do go a bit quick. I'm fitting 6 rechargeable AA's under the bonnet with an AnDel speed controller. That'll tame it. I've also boxed in three corners and poured in Liquid Gravity. It's a lot heavier now. Ideally I'd like to fit metal wheels. Should be possible.

Now run into a problem. As I've boxed in the corners to fit ballast, there's no room for switches. Forward/reverse in the cab is OK,but I also have to fit a change over switch for the on board charge socket and speed control + charge socket. Speed control on the AnDel unit is a separate pot so that'll have to go under the bonnet and extended for the exhaust pipe. Change over switch will have to go in the cab and the charging socket (Deans plug) will have to go where it goes, possibly on a flying lead. I've now found another power unit without the chassis so I'll do that one as well but make my own frame.
Good fun.
