what to do with this PIKO locomotive?

Post by mymodeltrain » Mon Apr 26, 2021 7:18 pm

This Piko locomotive was my first one when I started to enter this hobby nearly 10 years ago.
Now, the wheels are gone, but the motor and the gears are still there. I wonder if there is any way to give it new LGB wheelsets? or I have to buy the whole LGB gearbox? I am a bit confused now about how to do with this locomotive. I hope to hear about your experiences.

You'd be better sticking with Piko spares if my experiences with trying to find suitable gears for my Bachmann Lyn are anything to go by.

I used to use Topslotsntrains a lot when I was massively into N Gauge, mainly because I loved just 3/4 hour away and also because he was very helpful and friendly. His shop is a modern unit just by the Tram lines in Fleetwood. He also has or did have a massive Kato N Gauge layout. Sorry off gauge. Just so impressed with this shop and it's owner....
