Brickworks etc
Brickworks etc
If you've been following the thread on my trip to Dorset and Devon ( https://gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12095 ) you may have noticed that I was speculating about maybe adding a Brickworks and/or a Boneworks to the Peckforton Light Railway. Still not fully decided which it will be but over the last couple of days, since we've had decent weather, I've been busily adding additional sidings to the railway with a view to incorporating a some lineside industries.
I've added a new siding to Beeston Castle station - and then might use the original shorter siding to serve a brewery .
I've added another siding to Bulkeley station - which could serve the Brickworks or Boneworks.
Before ..... .
...... and after .
And I've added a siding at the foot of Gallantry Bank (just below Beeston Castle) which I originally thought could serve the Brickworks, but am now beginning to wonder if it could serve a sandstone quarry .... .
Should keep me out of mischief over the winter ....

Re: Brickworks etc
As Tom said Rik, plenty more operational possibilities there. I guess a rewrite of the Timetable as well.

Rik,
I wish you'd stop doing these things, my envy level has more or less reached the top stop!!

For now, I think I might just make the pickup goods a bit longer, but I could run the occasional special.

It's looking promising Rik, there is room to expand after all!
Your castle structure looks as though it has been there for a long time and has toned down well. Nice back-drop.

The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?

Thanks Peter. Going to give it a dose of water repellant now we've had a few days without rain.Peter Butler wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 10:39 am It's looking promising Rik, there is room to expand after all!

Fantastic stuff, those sidings all look just right... I love how the rail's all shiny for now, just like real newly-laid track. Looking forward to seeing what develops, and future films of the goods trains serving the sidings too...
Cheers,
Andrew.
