Test running locos on the RWLR

Post by tom_tom_go » Fri Jun 28, 2013 10:47 am

Last Sunday the weather was just about alright for myself and Germlin to have a mess about on my line:

I enjoyed that..Because your line has no building you can change scales easily..How does the track drain water off?

Railway looking good, Steamy Clare running well, have you fitted a washer behind the whistle I was going to do that on my Silver Lady but wasn't able to find one that fitted . :D

I have two line side buildings at the moment, however, can easily be removed if I ever go up a scale (still debating that one, as always!)

The gravel is layered with 10mm shingle as the base and then the smaller 3mm on top. I have not had any flooding problems yet despite our previous wet winter and not much better summer.

Al, the washer on the whistle I made to fit with a file ;)

Nice video, thank you.

I really like seeing trains pausing and passing each other instead of endlessly charging round and round. If I can finish my line before the kids are too old to be interested I'll be looking to enlist them for some family running sessions on my end-to-end line. Your wagons are looking great too.

I'm relieved to find that I'm not as tempted by the Big Hunslet as I thought I might be. Just as well because I've just cemented in my cutting sides and I think it'd be a tight fit...

All the best,

Andrew.

I can't see anything :(
If it can be made full scale it can be made 16mm

Extremely nice line. The slim buffer beams really do make the difference to the silver ladies appearance. I could probably fall for one after seeing yours :P

It was a good afternoon and the time flew by.

In my defence of a naked Katie this was the first steaming after a complete strip, paint and rebuild. The body wasn't finished at the time and thought it easier to see any problems.
As it happens one did develop on the second run. It was running perfectly, but i ended up with forward reverse linkage stuck but unsure why. It did realeas but happend again so need to investigate that.
