Roundhouse Darjeeling Garratt at the Compton Valence Light Railway

Post by Chris Bird » Mon May 13, 2019 9:21 am

Hi folks
Yesterday, thanks to Kris and Sam Dutson, I managed to make a little film of this amazing loco on their relatively new railway. The DJB resonator whistle sounds just right - though we didn't always have enough steam pressure for full voice.

Glad you managed to load your video Chris...It's brilliant, I love that Garrett and the line looks great too.

Is that one of bazzer42's bridges....

I do find that DJB whistles don't sound great on Roundhouse locos as 40 PSI isn't enough for a decent chime whereas Accucraft run at 60 PSI so the whistles sound better.
