Had a good running session this weekend. Decided to use my two ex-Southwold locos as the mainstay of services.

Hope you find it interesting.

Just watched this Rik, the scenes of the river always impress me every time you have a train running along side it.

Thanks for taking the time to create the video and sharing it.

Some lovely shots there Rik, beautifully scenic and very convincing, particularly in dappled lighting.
The railbus looks well with its interior lighting, something I don't bother with as I spend so little time operating, especially late evening.

Thanks Rik. I have to echo what both Tom and Peter have said. :D

Thanks chaps.
You may notice that the moss and mind your own business beside the stream is scorched and has died back - first time in the railway's history. Didn't think I would ever say this, but hoping for a drop of rain sometime soon.

Something which has been on my todo list is gas lighting at the stations. Been trying to figure out how to make lighted lamp posts removable - I have to be able to walk on the railway to cut the hedges.

I want to add lights to my stations Rik for evening running so I would be interested in how you got about this.

So far I have thought about running a 'power bus' cable from the garage all along the line, I could then stop using batteries for my points and signal servos.

When I did the lighting for Lower Bench station, I made the lamp posts removable in case they ever needed to be, but not for routine removal. I simply inserted a tube in the platform to act as a socket for the bottom of the post then I used tiny 2 pole connectors from Deltang (PC127) which are small enough to go through the socket. http://www.deltang.co.uk/pc127.jpg

Mine are connected to a solar power cell and come on automatically at dusk but obviously you could use a bus or batteries and switch or whatever.

Phil, I'd like to know more about your lighting, particularly using solar cells to light up your lamps. It's something I'd like to do when I get round to building my railway. Have you posted details before? If so can you provide me a link to it? If not, is it something that you would consider doing?

Not wishing to hijack Rik, I'll do a separate post on this.
