Roundhouse Lilla visits Summerlands

Post by Chris Bird » Fri Jun 08, 2018 5:01 pm

Paul Miles brought his new Lilla over yesterday and after fitting a Chuffer, we gave it a little run:

A very nice run Chris, so idyllic with the birds singing and the Lilla chuffing away.

Me too! In lined Cilgwyn Quarry green... It's a vaguely plausible "what if" for my WHR-themed line - ie what if it had had an accident being lowered down the incline at Bryngwyn on its way to Penryhn, and what if by the time the overworked team at Dinas had fixed it the quarry had made other arrangements...

Anyway, that's a wonderful film Chris, your line gets better ever time I see it, truly inspirational. I love the shot as the train trundles under the bridge and into the yard. I kept your line in mind as I trimmed the foliage on my own railway ready for a possible steam-up tomorrow - you seem to manage a perfect balance of slightly overgrown narrow gauge charm with excellent running.

Thanks for posting the video,

Andrew.

PS love your other recent video too, the one of your beautifully-made HGLW loco whose name I can't remember, let alone pronounce - one of those is on my wish list too...
