Free or cheap video editing software

Post by Dr. Bond of the DVLR » Sun Jul 09, 2017 6:31 pm

It's been a little while since I've put together a video, now coming back to it I've realised that with Windows 10 on the laptop now I can't stand using the new version of WMM. Sorry to dredge up the old topic but what is the latest on free/cheap video editing software for garden railway videos? What would you recommend using? I need at least all the features of WMM though it might be nice to be able to do a little more with it.

Hi Zach
Serif used to do a freebie version of their MoviePlus software, but it looks like it's now been discontinued. There are some sites which still offer it, but you need to check when you download that it doesn't include some 'extras' which try to hijack your browser. It looks like Serif still offer it as an 'educational' download - you might be able to download it if you still have your .ac.uk email address - http://www.serif.com/Education/SerifDes ... MoviePlus/

Alternatively, you could try some of these -I have no personal experience of them, but they might be worth a try

Use YouTube, you can download the video afterwards.

YouTube have discontinued their web based video editor which I used to use as it was easy.

I am now looking for an alternative.
