Incredibly atmospheric photographs. I don't think many of us go to such lengths with interior detailing, but they certainly show it's worth the effort.

The camera was balanced on a lens cap to gain “eye-height”, the aperture was set to f22 and it was focussed on a point about 1/3 of the scene ie where the pit starts. I try to get most of the foreground in focus at the cost of long exposures.

The inside looks more developed than it is. I am in the process of casting window frames. The inside is way ahead of the outside in terms of completion. I have a butterfly mind. At present I’m working on a church and a terrace. Not to mention that Rylston Station buildings aren’t quite finished.

I genuinely had to look long and hard to be sure they weren't of a 12" to the foot scale model! Well done indeed.

Ah! yes, using aperture priority I used to be able to hold the camera still enough for long exposures, now a brick, block of wood,tin can anything in the area to help the not so steady hands.

I often use a thin latex or nitrile glove. Fill it with rice or lentils until it is hand-shaped; don’t overfill it so it stretches. It should resemble a 1950s horror story prop. Tie it off (important step), and then use to cradle the camera. It place the lens centre on 16mm scale eye-height. It is very stable and copes with variation in ground level. I actually have a commercially-made bean bag that attaches to the camera tripod mount but find the horror-hand a more convincing height for 16mm use. It’s also much cheaper!

I really didn’t get it when I first looked (that it wasn’t an archive photograph). The lighting in the first picture particularly (and through the end doors) is totally convincing. Lovely.

I'll be happy if I can do half as well as you have. No idea why, but I think that Baldwin is particularly well-suited to it's surroundings. It all fits, I'm not sure how else to put it..
